Conference Host

APacCHRIE 2026 will be jointly hosted by Ritsumeikan University Business School (RBS) and the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (SHTM), and will take place at Ritsumeikan Future Plaza, the conference venue located on Ritsumeikan University’s Osaka-Ibaraki Campus. As the newest of the university’s four campuses, the Osaka-Ibaraki Campus accommodates more than 10,000 students and serves as an open academic hub that actively engages with the local community.
In 2024, Ritsumeikan University launched its Tourism Management Program. As Japan’s largest tourism-focused MBA program, it offers a comprehensive curriculum covering a broad spectrum of tourism and hospitality studies. Co-hosting APacCHRIE 2026 with SHTM, a globally recognized leader in hospitality and tourism research and education, represents a significant challenge and milestone for this relatively new program.
APacCHRIE 2026 also serves as a platform that actively encourages challenge-taking among MBA students. In collaboration with the tourism bureaus of Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, a series of distinctive excursions are being planned, several of which are designed and organized by MBA students themselves. Through direct involvement in program development and conference operations, students are provided with valuable opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world, international academic and professional contexts.
Ritsumeikan University continues to embrace new challenges and foster innovation in tourism and hospitality education. We look forward to welcoming you to Osaka for APacCHRIE 2026.
